Statement of Solidarity with the Wet'suwet'en People
The Anti Police-Terror Project stands in solidarity with the Wet'suwet'en people and demands action be taken to stop the violence their community faces.
The threat of lethal force against Indigenous people on their own land is a continuation of centuries of colonial violence and genocide, both in so-called Canada and America. It must end.
All work being done by TC Energy on the Coastal GasLink Pipeline must end, and all RCMP detachments and patrols established within Wet’suwet’en Territories must be removed. In addition, there should be a full independent investigation into the RCMP’s willingness to use lethal force, to target and arrest unarmed Indigenous people and elders, and to apprehend children.
The world is watching and this state-sanctioned violence and terrorism against Indigenous land defenders cannot continue.
In solidarity with the Wet'suwet'en people,
Anti Police-Terror Project
