MH First Volunteer Training

We deserve community crisis response that doesn’t harm us & instead honors our lives.

Join APTP’s MH First for a Crisis Response Training to gain more skills on how to build an alternative to calling 911!

This training is for all community members who are able to start volunteering as Responders in the next 3 months.

*Have you ever struggled with mental health? Or been 5150ed?
*Have you ever supported a loved one through a mental health crisis?
*Or wondered how to support someone without involving law enforcement in our communities?

Register to join us virtually on Saturday, April 9, from 10am to 5pm for an MH First Training open to all community members who are looking to take shifts on the MH First hotline and in-person dispatch and are available to start in the next 3 months.

This training will cover:
*Interventions in domestic violence, drug overdose, mental health crisis, etc.,
*How to support others with safety planning (strategies and sources of support),
*How to cool down a hot situation (including deescalating bystanders),
*And more!
