APTP Sacramento’s Mental Health First Response team is launching December first! We will begin responding to calls Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights when help is most needed and least available.
This in-depth Mental Health First Aid training is for those who wish to join our team in responding to mental health episodes and crises. No experience is necessary. Medical and mental health students and professionals are encouraged to join.
Our purpose is to interrupt and eliminate the need for law enforcement to be mental health crisis first responders by providing mobile peer support, de-escalation assistance, and non-punitive and life-affirming interventions, therefore decriminalizing emotional and psychological crises and decreasing the stigma around mental health, substance use, and domestic violence, while also addressing their root causes: white supremacy, capitalism, and colonialism.
If you are interested in joining the team, but are unable to attend this training, please email us at: aptpsacmedic@gmail.com
