What are some ways our communities have resisted violence over generations? What does this say about our ability to heal trauma and build wellness into the fabric of our lives and communities? What practices do you and your communities do to ground, center, and keep resilient? Why is it important to center healing within our movements?
This is a moment to invite our radical imagination, our BIG hearts, and our outrage to build community and make change. As part of the statewide Justice Teams Network Caravan- we will be sharing our Healing Justice approach within our Rapid Response work. Our work centers the healing and regeneration of the families and communities we work with, as well as the healing of the healers and rapid response workers. We will set the context for a Rapid Response training that our partners, The Anti Police-Terror Project will lead. The First Responders Training draws upon over 10 years of experience of investigating incidents of police terror and providing support to impacted families. The training will cover the history, structure, and organizing model of APTP.
Join Cat Brooks and the DPN Building Resilience team in this very important and timely conversation.
